The SUNY Potsdam Department of Anthropology recognized 34 First Year Scholars for their academic achievement during the 2020-21 year.

The Lambda Alpha Applied Anthropology Award is presented annually by the SUNY Potsdam Department of Anthropology.

The Lambda Alpha Minor Certificate is awarded by the SUNY Potsdam Department of Anthropology.

Established in 1968, the purpose of the Lambda Alpha National Anthropology Honor Society is to both acknowledge and reward academic excellence. The name Lambda Alpha is composed of the initial letters of the Greek words Logos Anthropos, meaning the study of humankind. Lambda Alpha supports scholarship and research by acknowledging and honoring superior achievement in the discipline among students engaged in the study of anthropology. Superior academic performance is recognized through membership in the society. Lambda Alpha rewards academic excellence through the annual awarding of student scholarships, research grants and student paper prizes.

Kappa Alpha Omicron serves as the honor society for the Interdisciplinary Environmental Association. To be eligible, students must have a minimum of sophomore standing, hold a 3.2 grade point average in the environmental studies major or minor, and a 3.0 overall GPA. Inductees must also have completed at least 12 credit hours of environmental studies classes, two of which should be at the 200 level or higher.

The Cheryl McMartin Award is presented annually by the SUNY Potsdam Department of Anthropology.

The Donald Armagost Award is presented annually by the SUNY Potsdam Department of Anthropology.

SUNY Potsdam's Department of Anthropology recently recognized two students as Archaeological Studies Departmental Scholars for the 2020-21 academic year.

The Birgit Weaver Award is generally awarded to seniors to recognize excellence in the museum studies minor.

SUNY Potsdam's Department of Anthropology recently recognized three students as Departmental Scholars.

The I. Thomas Stone Award is presented to the anthropology major who has produced the most professional example of anthropological original research and/or writing.

This award honors the late Scott Powell, an archaeological studies major, and has been made possible through the generosity of his family, the SUNY Potsdam Anthropology Club, the SUNY Potsdam Government Association, the Anthropology and History departments, and many individual donors. The award provides a scholarship for participation in an archaeology field school. Students are chosen through an application process.

This award, made possible through the generosity of John and Susan Omohundro, in commemoration of his parents, honors an anthropology major. Students are chosen through an application process on the basis of academic merit and financial need, with preference given to rising juniors.

Two outstanding SUNY Potsdam graduates have been recognized as the academic honorees for the Class of 2021. The award recipients are chosen by Faculty Senate and are specially recognized during Commencement.

The Steven J. Marqusee Award is presented to the senior archaeological studies major or majors who have produced the most professional example of archaeological original research and/or writing. The award has been recently named in honor of the retired Dean of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Steven J. Marqusee, whose teaching and leadership shaped SUNY Potsdam's archaeology and anthropology programs since 1976.

Named for the National Honor Society of Anthropology, the Lambda Alpha Award is offered by the Department of Anthropology's Alpha Chapter to the graduating senior or seniors who show the most promise in the pursuit of graduate studies.

A SUNY Potsdam student recently completed the Explore Leadership Development component of the College's Summit Leadership Program.

The Canfield Scholarship is awarded each spring to a junior anthropology major with the highest grade point average who demonstrates academic excellence.

The Project Leader Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Award for Outstanding Video is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Award for Outstanding Research is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The MS in Management Annual Fund Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Outstanding Instructional Design Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Outstanding Media Production Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Education Tech Annual Fund Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Business Administration Scholarship is awarded annually by the SUNY Potsdam Department of Business Administration.

The Excellence in Marketing Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.
