Two outstanding SUNY Potsdam graduates have been recognized as the academic honorees for the Class of 2021. The award recipients are chosen by Faculty Senate and are specially recognized during Commencement.

The Steven J. Marqusee Award is presented to the senior archaeological studies major or majors who have produced the most professional example of archaeological original research and/or writing. The award has been recently named in honor of the retired Dean of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Steven J. Marqusee, whose teaching and leadership shaped SUNY Potsdam's archaeology and anthropology programs since 1976.

Named for the National Honor Society of Anthropology, the Lambda Alpha Award is offered by the Department of Anthropology's Alpha Chapter to the graduating senior or seniors who show the most promise in the pursuit of graduate studies.

A SUNY Potsdam student recently completed the Explore Leadership Development component of the College's Summit Leadership Program.

The Canfield Scholarship is awarded each spring to a junior anthropology major with the highest grade point average who demonstrates academic excellence.

The Project Leader Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Award for Outstanding Video is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Award for Outstanding Research is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The MS in Management Annual Fund Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Outstanding Instructional Design Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Outstanding Media Production Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Education Tech Annual Fund Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

The Business Administration Scholarship is awarded annually by the SUNY Potsdam Department of Business Administration.

The Excellence in Marketing Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

SUNY Potsdam's Department of Business Administration recently recognized several students as Departmental Scholars.

Alexis Newman has received the Excellence in Management Award and is a Departmental Scholar this year, recognized by the Business Administration Department at SUNY Potsdam.

The Excellence in Accounting Award is presented by the Department of Business Administration at SUNY Potsdam.

Prabin Bhat has received the Excellence in Finance Award, the Annual Fund Award, and is a Departmental Scholar this year at the SUNY Potsdam Department of Business Administration.

Five cadets recently graduated from SUNY Potsdam's Law Enforcement Training Institute, the College's accredited pre-employment police academy.

The Excellence in Applied Learning Award is given by the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice to recognize a student who exhibits excellent performance and contribution to applied learning-based academia.

The Social Justice Minor Excellence Award is given to recognize a senior who exhibits excellent performance and contribution to the minor while exemplifying the spirit of the program.

The Human Services Minor Excellence Award is given to recognize a senior who exhibits excellent performance and contribution to the minor while exemplifying the spirit of the program.

The Criminal Justice Studies Minor Excellence Award is given to recognize a senior who exhibits excellent performance and contribution to the minor while exemplifying the spirit of the program.

The Criminal Justice Achievement Award recognizes the academic achievement of graduating criminal justice studies majors with the highest subject GPA who entered the college as a transfer student.

The Criminal Justice Excellence Award is presented to the senior criminal justice studies major with the highest grade point average in the major courses who entered SUNY Potsdam as a first-year student.

The Sociology Minor Excellence Award is given to recognize a senior who exhibits excellent performance and contribution to the minor while exemplifying the spirit of the program.

Criminal Justice Department Scholars are senior criminal justice studies majors with the highest grade point averages.

Each spring, the SUNY Potsdam Department of Sociology designates a student to receive the Joseph T. Hennessey Award. It recognizes the academic achievement of the senior sociology major(s) with the highest GPA in the major courses who entered SUNY Potsdam as a first-year student.

The Sociology Achievement Award recognizes the academic achievements of graduating seniors who entered SUNY Potsdam as transfer students and are now graduating with the highest grade point average in the sociology major.

The Canfield Scholarship is awarded each spring to an outstanding junior sociology major. The selection is based on achievement, demonstrated ability and potential for further professional growth.
