Sixty-seven SUNY Potsdam students completed internship placements at companies, non-profits or campus departments this summer. SUNY Potsdam's internship program places students with employers whose interests align with their studies. Each student intern has a faculty sponsor, and earns between 1 and 12 credits toward their degree requirements.

Thirty-one SUNY Potsdam students recently completed study abroad programs across the globe, both in short-term service journeys and in summer-long experiences.

Abigail Spillane, a SUNY Potsdam graduate student who is studying toward her Master of Science in Teaching degree in childhood education, is the recipient of the 2014 Stephen K. Tompsett Memorial Scholarship. The Stephen K. Tompsett Memorial Fund for Technology in Education ("Stephen's Fund") was created in honor and memory of Stephen Kevin Tompsett, who was killed in the attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.

The Crane Opera Ensemble will present a pair of "angelic" one-act operas this spring, with performances on Friday and Saturday, April 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music. The award-winning Crane Opera Ensemble will perform the tragic yet lyric "Suor Angelica," with music by Giacomo Puccini, followed by the satirical and off-beat "Angelique" by Jacques Ibert.

SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will present a concert featuring the Crane Symphony Orchestra on Thursday, April 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall. SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will present the Student Honors Recital, featuring some of the best student performers at Crane, on Tuesday, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater. This event is free, and the public is invited to attend. The concert will feature seven students selected by professors to represent their respective performance areas.
