Aquila Theatre Company Will Perform "A Midsummer Night's Dream" at SUNY Potsdam on April 3

SUNY Potsdam's Department of Theatre & Dance Proud to Host Aquila Theatre Company at the Performing Arts Center

Potsdam, NY (03/12/2019) — SUNY Potsdam's Department of Theatre & Dance is proud to host the critically acclaimed Aquila Theatre company as they present "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by William Shakespeare. This free, one night only performance will take place on Wednesday, April 3, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. in the Proscenium Theater-located inside SUNY Potsdam's Performing Arts Center.

Free ticket reservations can be made online through the CPS website at www.cpspotsdam.org, or by calling the CPS Box Office at (315) 267-2277.

"A Midsummer Night's Dream" is one of Shakespeare's most popular pieces for the stage, set in a forest with tales of love, passion, royalty, and magic. The actors from Aquila Theatre combine their signature physical theatre style, beautiful movement, music and impressive Shakespearean acting to create a truly engaging performance. This production is part of Aquila Theatre's multi-city tour throughout the Midwest and East Coast, where they have been performing either "A Midsummer Night's Dream" or "Frankenstein," by Mary Shelley, since last September.

"We are excited to host one of America's great touring companies performing one of Shakespeare's greatest plays," said Dr. Jay Pecora, associate professor and chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance.

This event is being funded by a generous grant from the LoKo Arts Festival, an event made possible by the generosity and artistic vision of Kathryn (Kofoed) '54 and Donald Lougheed (Hon. '54).
