SUNY Potsdam Honors 18 College Retirees

The State University of New York at Potsdam Thanks 18 Employees for Years of Service to the College, Upon Their Retirements

Potsdam, NY (05/21/2025) — SUNY Potsdam recently honored 18 longtime employees who retired during the 2024-25 academic year. Together, the faculty and staff members had collectively dedicated an incredible 450 years of service to the institution throughout their careers.

"As we celebrate the retirement of these extraordinary individuals, we reflect on the legacy they leave behind -- one of dedication, excellence, and deep care for our students and community. Their contributions have helped shape SUNY Potsdam into the vibrant institution it is today. We are profoundly grateful for their service and wish them fulfillment in the next chapter of their lives," said SUNY Potsdam President Dr. Suzanne R. Smith.

This year's SUNY Potsdam retirees included:

  • Stephanie Brown, Institutional Effectiveness: 22 years of service
  • Mark Campbell, Crane School of Music: 31 years of service
  • Susan Cobb, Procurement Services: 36 years of service
  • Robin Collen, Theatre & Dance: 27 years of service
  • Jeffrey Foster, University Police: 20 years of service
  • Gregory Gardner, Business Administration: 21 years of service
  • Rodrick Harvey, Heating Plant: 32 years of service
  • Katherine Kelley, College Communications: 20 years of service
  • Gregory Kuiken, Custodial Services: 30 years of service
  • Eric LaBier, Physical Plant: 14 years of service
  • Sandra LaRock, Crane School of Music: 20 years of service
  • Nancy Lewis, Sociology & Criminal Justice: 27 years of service
  • Stephen Markum, Custodial Services: 10 years of service
  • MaryJo McNamara, Art: 32 years of service
  • Tammy Russell, Custodial Services: 32 years of service
  • Romi Sebald-Chudzinski, Art Museum: 27 years of service
  • Arlene Stillwell, Psychology: 31 years of service
  • Kevin Thompson, Physical Plant: 18 years of service
