SUNY Potsdam Welcomes Guest Speaker for Diversity in STEM Talk Series
SUNY Potsdam Hosts State Forest Ranger Robbi Mecus for Upcoming STEM Discussion on Nov. 2
Potsdam, NY (10/24/2023) — SUNY Potsdam will welcome a guest speaker for the College's ongoing Diversity in STEM Talk Series, sponsored by Arconic.
New York State Forest Ranger Robbi Mecus will present a talk, "Moving Beyond the Legacy of Exclusion in Outdoor Spaces," on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 6 p.m., in Kellas Hall Room 105. A reception with refreshments will immediately follow, in the Kellas Hall lobby. This event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Mecus is a 24-year veteran of the New York State Forest Rangers. She lives in Keene Valley with her 10-year-old daughter. As an open and outspoken Transwoman, she is dedicated to the principles of diversity, equity and inclusion, not just in her workplace, but in outdoor spaces in general.
