SUNY Potsdam Hosts DEC Mock Search Training

Missing Person Training Event for Police Academy Students and Local Law Enforcement Scheduled for April 8

Potsdam, NY (04/03/2019) — Lt. Jay Terry, the zone supervisor for the Department of Environmental Conservation, will conduct a missing person training event at SUNY Potsdam's Maxcy Hall from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Monday, April 8.

Terry, and other employees from the DEC, will lead the training at Maxcy Hall before conducting a mock search outside the building. The event will focus on searching for missing persons and will cover grid training. The hands-on portion of the event will take place along the tree line of Tupper Lake Drive near lot 27 and 30 at SUNY Potsdam.

SUNY Potsdam's police academy cadets and local law enforcement agencies from St. Lawrence and Franklin Counties will be participating in the training.
