SUNY Potsdam Hosts Criminal Justice Day for Prospective Students

SUNY Potsdam Welcomes Students and Families for Immersive Day Exploring Field of Criminal Justice Studies, Along with Local Law Enforcement Agencies

Potsdam, NY (02/19/2025) — SUNY Potsdam will host its first-ever Criminal Justice Day, designed to showcase career opportunities in law enforcement, on Thursday, Feb. 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hosted in partnership with the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice and the Office of Admissions, the free event will offer an immerse experience to help prospective students explore the field.

Criminal Justice Day activities will include:

Optional tours led by Admissions are also available, for students who want to explore more of the SUNY Potsdam campus. The tours will be held immediately before and after the Criminal Justice Day activities, and will feature a peek at academic buildings, science labs, arts facilities, student union, residence halls and the Maxcy Hall Athletic Complex.

"We are excited to host Criminal Justice Day and showcase the diverse opportunities available within the field," said Dr. David Bugg, professor and chair of the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. "This event is a fantastic way for prospective students to see firsthand what makes our program unique and how it can prepare them for a successful career in criminal justice."
