SUNY Potsdam Announces Return of Disciplined Inquiry in Education Seminar Series
School of Education and Professional Studies Dean Allen Grant to Speak about Community Schools to Kick Off Fall 2021 Seminar Series
Potsdam, NY (09/01/2021) — Dr. Allen C. Grant, dean of SUNY Potsdam's School of Education and Professional Studies, will explore various community school strategies in the first session of the 2021-22 Disciplined Inquiry in Education Seminar Series, at noon on Wednesday, Sept. 8.
Grant will provide an overview of community schooling and the various models found in both New York State and Pennsylvania, and discuss the promise of the approach for both urban and rural settings.
The Disciplined Inquiry in Education Seminar is sponsored by SUNY Potsdam's School of Education and Professional Studies. Since its inception 14 years ago, the School has hosted more than 140 presentations as part of the annual seminar.
All seminar meetings will be offered on Wednesdays, in the Rebecca V. Sheard Literacy Center balcony, from noon to 1 p.m. There will also be a virtual viewing option available via Zoom. These events are free, and the public is welcome to attend.
