Rick Reagan '90 of Marcellus, N.Y., Recognized with 2024 Minerva Award, Highest Honor Bestowed by the SUNY Potsdam Alumni Association

Potsdam, NY (07/16/2024) — The SUNY Potsdam Alumni Association recently presented the Minerva Award, its highest honor, to Rick Reagan '90 of Marcellus, N.Y., during Reunion 2024.

The Minerva Award is presented annually to a graduate who has demonstrated outstanding professional achievement in his or her field. It is the highest honor that a SUNY Potsdam graduate can receive from the association. Reagan was recognized for his success in investment management and his generous support of the College.

About the recipient:

As the founder and president of Reagan Companies Asset Management, Rick Reagan '90 has established himself as an extremely successful and trusted investment manager. Reagan centers his practice around the client by providing insightful financial strategies customized to meet clients' needs. His personalized approach enables a client to achieve their life goals and enjoy what life has to offer, knowing their finances are being expertly managed.

Reagan has provided SUNY Potsdam with significant philanthropic support, as a testament to his faith and belief in Potsdam's mission. He has shared that Potsdam provided him with the tools and confidence he needed, creating the desire to give back and support students and faculty at his alma mater.

Reagan's memories of Potsdam are vivid, and his recollections and storytelling reveal a true connection that was on full display when he returned to campus in March 2023. During his visit, he was also able to provide feedback to students working on their final project presentation in the strategic management class, allowing him to deeply appreciate the level of professionalism and dedication of both students and faculty.

Reagan may be familiar to Central New York alumni, as he appears on numerous media outlets in Syracuse, N.Y. He has a daily segment on News Channel 9 (ABC) as the station's financial expert, and several times a week you can also hear him on WSYR, News Radio 570.

In addition to his business and media commitments, Reagan has also served as an expert financial witness in multiple Financial Industry Authority (FINRA) arbitration hearings and mediations since 2003. At SUNY Potsdam, Reagan was a departmental scholar in economics as a student, and went on to receive his Master of Business Administration degree in finance from Clarkson University. When he's not diving into the recent economic data, you can often find him hiking in the Adirondacks and at Syracuse University basketball games, rooting on the Orange.
