Soprano Lisa Vroman '79 to Lead Public Masterclass at The Crane School of Music

SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music Welcomes Back Vocalist Alumna Lisa Vroman '79 for Masterclass

Potsdam, NY (04/15/2024) — SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will welcome back Broadway and opera star Lisa Vroman '79 for a public masterclass with students on Thursday, April 18 at 4 p.m., in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.

The masterclass is titled "Bel Canto -- Can Belt-O!" and will concentrate on the athleticism and grace (to name just two aspects of many) needed in all genres.

Audience participation will be invited. One singer from each Crane School of Music voice studio will perform and receive instruction in front of the audience.

This event is free, and all are welcome to attend.

Vroman, best known for her portrayal of Christine Daae in "The Phantom of the Opera," and most recently awarded the 2024 Bistro Award in New York City, will be visiting her alma mater to participate in the inaugural ceremony for SUNY Potsdam President Suzanne Smith.
