Potsdam Pitches Host 19th A Cappella Invitational at SUNY Potsdam
The Potsdam Pitches Host Invitational Featuring Five A Cappella Groups at SUNY Potsdam on April 25
Potsdam, NY (04/17/2026) — The Potsdam Pitches will host its 19th invitational event next weekend at SUNY Potsdam. The co-ed student a cappella group will bring together three other campus singing ensembles, along with a guest group from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, for a celebration of song.
The invitational will be held on Saturday, April 25 at 2 p.m., in the Proscenium Theater, located in the Performing Arts Center. This event is free, and the public is invited to attend.
Along with the Potsdam Pitches, the other groups slated to perform are the A Sharp Arrangement, the Potsdam Pointercounts, Stay Tuned, and RPI's Rensselyrics.
"Our invitational is a showcase of all the work we have done throughout the semester. We rehearse seven hours a week, between music, choreography and inner group relationships and bonding," said Potsdam Pitches Vice President Dylan Sovie '28, a music education major from Ogdensburg, N.Y. "We have repertoire to fit every demographic of audience -- pop songs with themes of love, themes of yearning and hope, as well as a Disney set which is dedicated to our philanthropy, Hannah's Hope. We have a set that will feature any alumni who attend and would like to perform with us. We will also be featuring our set from the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA), which we competed at in January."
The Potsdam Pitches are SUNY Potsdam's oldest mixed-voice a cappella group, known for being the first in school history to reach the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) finals.
