Potsdam College Foundation Announces New Board Member, Klayton Schaefer '18 of New York City
Potsdam, NY (04/28/2025) — The Potsdam College Foundation Board of Trustees has named Klayton Schaefer '18 of New York City as its newest trustee.
He was one of three new trustees to be named to the board at its most recent meeting. The Foundation Board helps to foster giving in support of The State University of New York at Potsdam.
The new trustees include Dr. Mark L. Hayman '94 of Boston, Dr. Jude Kiah '91 & '93 of Fort Worth, Texas, and Klayton Schaefer '18 of New York City. Their service officially began at the board's April 25 meeting on campus at SUNY Potsdam.
Klayton Schaefer '18 is a communications professional currently working at Bloomberg Philanthropies, in a position he has held since September 2023. His prior experience includes a range of roles at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, where he had previously held the roles of executive operations manager, employee experience manager and people coordinator. Schaefer is a graduate of SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music, where he earned a Bachelor of Music degree in music performance, concentrating in the French horn. He went on to complete a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.
