Potsdam College Foundation Plans Giving Tuesday Campaign

SUNY Potsdam Alumni and Supporters Asked to Give Back to College on Giving Tuesday, with New Online Portal

Potsdam, NY (11/21/2018) — In recognition of Giving Tuesday, the Potsdam College Foundation will launch a new online giving portal on Nov. 23, at http://www.potsdam.edu/givecampus. Generous SUNY Potsdam alumni and friends are all encouraged to support students and programs through this unique website on Giving Tuesday 2018, which falls on Nov. 27 this year.

Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. Following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events of Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday, this year's Giving Tuesday will take place on Nov. 27. Giving Tuesday begins the giving season by inspiring people to collaborate and give back to worthy causes.

Giving Tuesday gifts to SUNY Potsdam can be designated to support the greatest needs of the College, or any area of campus that one chooses. Whether gifts go to guest lectures, musical performances, educational opportunities, experiential learning or Potsdam Bears athletic programs, loyal donor support enhances every area of the College.

In addition, many alumni who have been personally impacted by scholarship gifts may wish to pay it forward, with a contribution to the scholarship fund. SUNY Potsdam awarded $3.1 million in scholarships last year -- roughly half of which was made possible because of donors' generous gifts!
