Potsdam College Foundation Announces New Board Members, Tiffany Soricelli '06 of Burnt Hills, NY & Brooks Washburn (Hon. '23) of Potsdam, NY

Potsdam, NY (09/26/2023) — The Potsdam College Foundation Board of Trustees has named two accomplished and dedicated SUNY Potsdam alumni as its new trustees. Trustees welcomed Tiffany Soricelli '06 and Brooks Washburn (Hon. '23) as their newest colleagues, as they work collectively to foster giving in support of SUNY Potsdam.

Tiffany Soricelli '06 is an award-winning financial advisor and the owner of Virtuoso Asset Management LLC, the first Registered Investment Advisory firm in the country dedicated to serving artists and supporters of the arts through financial planning and asset management services. She is also the founder and CEO of Virtuoso Advising for Artists, a company dedicated to coaching and educating artists about the business and financial aspects of building a thriving career in the arts. As a sought-after national speaker, Tiffany currently serves as the business and financial coach to emerging artists at The Metropolitan Opera, Washington National Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Minnesota Opera and San Francisco Opera. During the summer, she works with artists at Wolf Trap Opera, Glimmerglass Opera, Seagle Music Colony and the Mostly Modern Festival, and regularly serves as a speaker for national organizations, including Opera America, The Recording Academy and Chamber Music America. She has led educational seminars for New World Symphony, LA Opera, Opera Philadelphia, Atlanta Opera and several prestigious music conservatories across the country. Prior to her financial career, Tiffany earned both her Bachelor of Music and her Master of Music degrees from SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music. She lives outside of Saratoga Springs, N.Y., with her husband and two children.

Brooks Washburn (Hon. '23) is the owner of Brooks Washburn Architecture DPC, the successful Potsdam-based architectural and engineering design firm which has provided thousands of commercial and residential designs. Among his work have been numerous designs for SUNY Potsdam, including the College's newest building, the HEARTH (Handcrafted Experiential Archaeological Research and Teaching Hub). As the son of Crane School of Music Dean Emeritus Dr. Robert Washburn '49 and Beverly Washburn '63, Brooks grew up immersed in the campus and surrounded by music. He earned his bachelor's degree in architecture and urban planning from Princeton University. Brooks is now a loyal supporter of the School where his father left his legacy. Over the past few years, he has made significant gifts to the Fund for Crane, providing much-needed financial support and flexibility for music students and programs. In recognition of his gifts, the SUNY Potsdam College Council has chosen to name the newly constructed rehearsal room in the Crane Complex in honor of Bob and Beverly Washburn. Through his thoughtful philanthropy, Brooks has ensured two essential things: perpetual annual funding in support of Crane, and the assurance that Bob and Beverly will forever be an integral part of the Crane student experience, as students use the rehearsal space to enhance their musical skills. He was named an honorary alumnus by the SUNY Potsdam Alumni Association and presented with the honor at Reunion 2023.
