Crane School of Music Faculty Highlighted in Upcoming Performances

SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music Features Faculty Artists & Composers in Three Upcoming Concerts

Potsdam, NY (01/29/2020) — SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will highlight its renowned faculty artists in three upcoming recitals and concerts.

Flute recital

Visiting Assistant Professor Chelsea Tanner will present a flute recital on Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 7:30 p.m., in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater. This performance will feature works by Chaminade, Casella, Liebermann, Uebayashi, Boulanger and Tchaikovsky.

Faculty composers

The Crane School of Music will host a faculty composition recital, featuring a program of works composed entirely by professors, performed by Crane faculty and students, on Sunday, Feb. 9 at 7:30 p.m., also in Snell Theater. The concert will feature pieces by Phil Salathé, Joe Sferra, Jerod Sommerfeldt, Tim Sullivan and Gregory Wanamaker.

Honoring women's suffrage

Crane will present a faculty recital honoring the centennial of women's suffrage in the United States on Monday, Feb. 17 at 7:30 p.m., also in Snell. Charles Guy (tuba) will perform alongside Ling Lo (piano), in a performance featuring works by women composers, including pieces by Alex Shapiro, Barbara York, Elizabeth Raum, Libby Larsen and Anna Baadsvik.

All of these concerts are free, and the public is invited to attend.
