Crane Candlelight Concert to be Broadcast on Mountain Lake PBS and North Country Public Radio

Traditional Holiday Concert from SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music to be Broadcast on Mountain Lake PBS and NCPR Again this Season

Potsdam, NY (11/25/2024) — For more than 100 years, the Crane Candlelight Concert has ushered in the holiday season at SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music. Once again, audiences can relive the magic, thanks to upcoming broadcasts on regional public television and radio.

The 2024 Crane Candlelight Concert took place on Sunday, Nov. 24, featuring nearly 300 musicians on stage at the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall. This year's concert sprinkled in favorite melodies from holiday films and television specials, alongside classic hymns and works, for a nostalgic and festive performance. Video cameras and sound equipment were there to capture every moment in high definition.

This year's concert and recent performances are set to air on Mountain Lake PBS at the following times this holiday season:

  • Friday, Nov. 29: 8 p.m. (2023, "Celebrating a Miracle")
  • Saturday, Nov. 30: 12:30 a.m. (2023, "Celebrating a Miracle")
  • Sunday, Dec. 1: 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. (2023, "Celebrating a Miracle")
  • Sunday, Dec. 22: 4 p.m. (2022, "Let it Shine!")
  • Monday, Dec. 23: 9 p.m. (2024 premiere)
  • Tuesday, Dec. 24: 1:30 a.m. and 8 p.m. (2024 performance)
  • Wednesday, Dec. 25: 12:30 a.m. (2023, "Celebrating a Miracle"), 3 p.m. (2022, "Let it Shine!"), 4 p.m. (2024 performance), and 5 p.m. (2023, "Celebrating a Miracle")

Mountain Lake PBS will once again syndicate the 2024 performance for other stations across the U.S. and Canada to air as well.

The program will also air on North Country Public Radio as part of the station's holiday programming. The radio broadcast schedule will soon be announced.

Following the concert, the livestream recording is also now available to enjoy online anytime, at the Crane YouTube channel.
