Student Composer Brooke D'Aprile Premieres New Work at The Crane School of Music

Six music composition students from SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music are set to premiere their latest new works in a student composers forum concert, on Sunday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.

The line-up of student composers includes Brooke D'Aprile of Honeoye Falls, NY.

The concert will open with "Temporal Linearity" by John-Kyle C. Konye, a work for piano, MIDI keyboard and live electronic playback/media, which will be followed by Brooke D'Aprile's "Better Left Unsaid," for bassoon and piano. The concert will continue with two pieces for duo piano by Francesca Grace Mowatt Hilditch, itled "Cacofonia" and "between trees."

Student composer Jacob J. Ali will also perform his new solo work, "Fantasy for C Trumpet." A clarinet quartet will present selections from Tyler Mazone's "Ten Storytelling Duets," including "Holy Morning," "Runnin' Home," "Heartfelt Embrace" and "Reunite and Return." The performance will conclude with "Build Up," a piece for saxophone sextet, written by Maxime Gilles Esformes.
