SUNY Potsdam Senior Bryan Rapholtz Honored with 2015 PACES Student Award

Bryan Rapholtz of Watertown, NY, was one of three SUNY Potsdam students who were were recently honored with the 2015 PACES Student Awards, presented by Potsdam Auxiliary and College Educational Services.

The awards recognize graduating seniors who have excelled academically while providing exceptional service to the College. They must also be engaged in student life activities while maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA.

This year's awards were presented to Erica Weitze, Bryan Rapholtz and Scott Turner.

Erica Weitze is on the Dean's List, and is graduating with a Student Initiated Interdepartmental Major, majoring in arts administration with a minor in dance. Her coursework also includes grant writing and finance. Weitze has served as the assistant director and choreographer for the Crane Opera Ensemble, is a member of the Musical Theatre Organization on campus, and acted as assistant director in Department of Theatre and Dance productions. She has also worked in the President's Office as a student assistant.

Bryan Rapholtz has made the President's List and is a member of numerous honor societies. He is an officer in various clubs, including Colleges Against Cancer, the Swing Dance Club, the Color Guard and the Sociology Club. Rapholtz will graduate with a bachelor's degree in psychology, and has completed internships with the SUNY Potsdam Office of Residence Life, and the Potsdam Central School Guidance Office.

Scott Turner transferred to SUNY Potsdam in 2012, and has made the Dean's List and President's List. He is majoring in creative writing in the competitive Bachelor of Fine Arts program. Turner has published numerous poems and non-fiction work in local publications. He is an active member of the Student Government Association, serving on numerous committees, as well as being the organization's elected vice president in 2014-15.
