James Myer Wins SUNY Potsdam Student Innovative Idea Competition

SUNY Potsdam recognized three undergraduates who won top prizes in the College's student innovative idea competition, held during Economic Fusion 2015. The competition was judged by a panel of alumni and local business leaders.
James Myer was recognized among the winners by College President Kristin G. Esterberg at the event.
- First place ($500): Molly Jones, a music business major from East Aurora, N.Y., took top honors for her idea, the "Quickstand," an innovative, space-saving and easy set-up percussion stand.
- Second place ($250): James Myer, a music business major and mathematics tutor from Ronkonkoma, N.Y., was honored for his idea, "M Square," an educational mobile app game combining music and math.
- Third place ($100): Austin Patzwahl, a business administration major from Canaan, N.Y., was recognized for his idea, "Flashing Brake Lights," a car safety proposal.
Economic Fusion celebrates innovation, entrepreneurship and creativity, with a focus on the North Country economy, and SUNY Potsdam's commitment to the community.
