Photographer Stephan Savoia '75 Presents 'F4 & See It: An Exhibition of Photojournalism,' at SUNY Potsdam's Gibson Gallery from July 13 to 31

Potsdam, NY (07/08/2026) — SUNY Potsdam's Gibson Gallery will feature a retrospective of works by the Pulitzer Prize-winning alumnus Stephan Savoia '75, opening in time for Reunion 2026.

The show, titled "F4 and See It: An Exhibition of Photojournalism," will include iconic and striking photos from Savoia's 40-year career as a photographer for the Associated Press. The alumnus got his start taking photos for The Racquette, and moved on to earn a master's degree in photojournalism at the University of Missouri. Working for the AP, he photographed world events such as the Olympics, the 25th anniversary of Woodstock, the Super Bowl, the aftermath of 9/11, Somalian refugees, the Boston Marathon and presidential campaigns as far back as Ronald Reagan's second run for office. He even immersed himself in the lives of the Inuit peoples living in portions of Canada's Northwest Territories and Nunavut.

The show will be on display in the Gibson Gallery from Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 31. The gallery will be open Monday through Friday, from 1 to 5 p.m., and on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m.

Admission to the Gibson Gallery, located at Brainerd Hall, is free, and the exhibition space is wheelchair-accessible.

The show is also set to return in the fall, from Sept. 1 to 30.
