SUNY Potsdam College Council to Meet on April 21

SUNY Potsdam College Council Holds Final Meeting of 2022-23 Academic Year

Potsdam, NY (04/17/2023) — The SUNY Potsdam College Council will hold its final meeting of the 2022-23 academic year on Friday, April 21 at 10 a.m., in the Raymond Hall seventh floor boardroom.

The meeting will stream live online via YouTube, and will be open to the public.

College Council Chair June O'Neill (Hon. '99) will open the meeting, followed by a presentation on the Center for Diversity, led by Associate Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Jacqueline Richardson-Melecio and students Imani Reid '23 and Leyshka Hernandez Luyanda '23.

O'Neill will offer the chair's report, followed by a report from outgoing Officer-in-Charge Dr. Philip T. Neisser '79. Dr. Suzanne Smith, SUNY Potsdam's 18th president, will also attend the meeting in her first week on campus.

The College Council will consider four resolutions to name campus spaces in honor of individuals and organizations that have left an impact on the institution, including proposals to name:

  • the Margo and Scott E. Goodman Percussion Alley,
  • the James Petercsak "JP" Percussion Studio,
  • the Prometheus Alumni Food Pantry, and
  • the Sweetwater Lobby at The Crane School of Music.

The Council will also hear reports from the divisions of Academic Affairs, Administration, Advancement, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Faculty Senate, Student Affairs, and the Student Government Association.
