LoKo Arts Festival Festures SUNY Potsdam Senior Choreographers

SUNY Potsdam Department of Theatre and Dance Presents Senior Choreographers' Concert as Part of LoKo Arts Festival from May 2 to 4

Potsdam, NY (04/25/2019) — The SUNY Potsdam Department of Theatre and Dance is proud to present the annual Senior Choreographers' Concert, as a part of the 2019 LoKo Arts Festival.

This year's concert will feature a variety of works created conceptually and choreographically by 11 seniors from the SUNY Potsdam dance program. Each individual work is the culmination of a semester-long class, where students are tasked with creating the final work of their undergraduate career.

These pieces, ranging from contemporary to Afro-fusion, are representative of the growth and development each choreographer has achieved throughout their four-year journey at Potsdam. In addition to the 11 students' works, there will also be a premiere of a new faculty piece.

The seniors and faculty featured in this year's concerts are Carlie Bonilla, Atiya Clarke, Brooklyn Collier, Krystal Dawkins, Nicole Gibson, Caitlyn Lane, Cortney Nelson, Devon Newsome, Sarah Olsen, Eliezer Quarless and Katherine Rubenacker, plus faculty member Don Borsh.

The works will be divided into two programs. Concert A will be presented on Thursday, May 2 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, May 4 at 2 p.m. Concert B will be presented on Friday, May 3 at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday, May 4 at 9 p.m. All performances will be held in the Proscenium Theater in the SUNY Potsdam Performing Arts Center.

Admission is free. Tickets can be reserved ahead of time through the Community Performance Series Box Office, located in the Performing Arts Center lobby, or by calling (315) 267-2277. Tickets will also be available at the door one hour before show time.

The LoKo Arts Festival is made possible by the generosity and artistic vision of Kathryn Kofoed Lougheed '54 and Donald Lougheed (Hon. '54).
