Crane Latin Ensemble to Present Concert of Afro-Cuban Music

SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music Presents Crane Latin Ensemble Concert on Nov. 29

Potsdam, NY (11/16/2018) — SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music will present a winter performance by the Crane Latin Ensemble on Thursday, Nov. 29 at 7:30 p.m., in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater.

Fresh off an exciting tour of New York City schools, the Crane Latin Ensemble will present a concert of Afro-Cuban music, including works by Tito Puente, Oscar Hernandez, Chris Washburne, Miguel Matamoros, Hector LaVoe and others.

This concert is free, and the public is invited to attend.

About the performers:

The Crane Latin Ensemble is dedicated to promoting Latin American dance music, specializing in Afro-Cuban and Puerto Rican traditional musical styles. The ensemble collaborates with traditional artists, such as former members of the Tito Puente Orchestra, and Los Naranjos, the oldest continuously-functioning Son group in Cuba, as well as contemporary artists such as Chris Washburn. The group has performed in Cuba, Mexico and Canada, and recently completed a successful tour of New York City with the Crane Concert Choir, presenting concerts and workshops on Afro-Cuban music to 1,500 schoolchildren.
